JUST IN: Federal government suspends more top officials at NHIS



Prof. Isaac Adewole, the Minister of Health has suspended more top officials of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), barely a week after sending its Chief Executive on compulsory leave.

A statement from the ministry of health, on Monday, July 17, said the suspension of the officials was to allow thorough investigation of the reported large scale fraud in the NHIS. 

Top officials affected include; Olufemi Akingbade, the General Manger, Zonal Coordinator South South Zone; John Okon, General Manager, Finance Account; Yusuf Fatika, the General Manager, Human Resources and Administration; and Shehu Adamu, the Assistant General Manager, Audit. 

Others are Vincent Mamdam, the Assistant General Manager, Head Insurance; Safiyanu Attah – Senior Assistant Officer, Marketing; Owen Udo Udoma, Senior Manager, Contribution Management; and Innocent Abbah, Senior Assistant Officer, Planning Research and Monitoring.
