N1.04billion Fraud: Court Grants Ex-OAU VC, Bursar Bail


The former acting Vice Chancellor, Obafemi Awolowo University , Prof. Anthony Elujoba and University Bursar, Mrs. Aderonke Akeredolu, who are standing trial for alleged conspiracy, abuse of office, using position for gratification and stealing to the tune of N1.04billion were on Friday, July 14, 2017, granted bail by Justice A. D. Oladimeji of the Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo.

Elujoba, alongside the Bursar, were alleged to have diverted the sum of One Billion, Four Hundred Thousand Naira from the University’s Fixed Assets and Endowment Fund without approval from the Federal Ministry and Governing Council of the University to pay some unapproved allowances from which Elujoba paid himself N7m (Seven Million Naira)furniture allowance. 
The matter has been adjourned to 27 October, 2017 for trial.
