Breaking: Former President GEJ, IBB hold closed-door meeting in Minna

Former president, Goodluck Jonathan, has held a closed door meeting with ex-military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, at his uphill residence in Minna, the Niger state capital. 

The meeting, according to the Punch, took place on Wednesday, October 18, after Jonathan, accompanied by former Senator Nimi Barigha Amange, who had represented Bayelsa east in the National Assembly, visited the state capital at about 10am.

According to a source familiar with the meeting, only Jonathan and Babangida met behind closed doors. The source explained that those who accompanied Jonathan waited in another part of the residence while the meeting took place. 

the meeting between the two former rulers started a few minutes after 10am and ended at about 12.14pm. 

After the meeting, Jonathan reportedly declined to speak to journalists about what was discussed. The former president told journalist that he had not seen General Babangida since he returned from medical vacation and felt it was the right time to do so He also declined to comment on the current political situation in the country, saying he was a retired politician.
