APC denies alleged decamp of 5000 members in Sapele

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has denied alleged decamping of 5000 of its members along with a former member of the party, Chief Felix Anirah, in Sapele, to the People’s Democratic Party.

APC Chief Anirah who contested the Sapele constituency seat at the Delta State House of Assembly in 2015, under the platform of APC formerly dumped the party on Thursday for the PDP, alleging that he decamped with over 5000 members of APC. However, in swift response yesterday, the state Acting Chairman of APC, Chief Cyril Ogodo,  debunked the claim, saying,”The claim by Chief Anirah that he decamped to PDP with over 5000 of our members is laughable and a blatant lie.

He contested for Delta State House of Assembly in 2015 and got less than 3000 votes out of all the APC members in Sapele LGA. So from where did he get 5000 members to decamp along with to PDP?”

We early resorted that A Local Government chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Bayelsa State, Hon. Soukiri Jackson and 7, 000 members of the party have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Odi community in Kolokuma/Opokuma area of the state.

The State Governor, Seriake Dickson, described the return to the PDP of the APC defectors as a welcome development.
