2019: Some APC governors are already in talks to join PDP - Secondus

Chief Uche Secondus, the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has stated that some governors in the north-central zone elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will soon join the opposition party, Daily Trust reports. Secondus made his comments in Umuahia, the Abia state capital, during his one-day working visit to the PDP’s State Executive Council (SEC).

PDP chairman disclosed that the APC governors were already in talks to join the opposition party, and would be welcomed very soon. All the six states in the north-central zone - Niger, Kogi, Kwara, Benue, Nasarawa and Plateau - are currently governed by APC governors. Secondus further disclosed that contrary to claims that some PDP governors plan to defect to other parties, they are actually intact.

The party chairman warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to desist from any attempt to rig the upcoming general elections; stating that any such attempt would be resisted. He further disclosed that the PDP was on a mission to wrest power from the APC. In his words: “We are on a mission of recovering Nigeria from the hands of APC; even the market women know that the APC government has collapsed.”
