The Nigerian police on Friday declared wanted four of the gangsters who participated in the bloody bank robbery incident in Offa, Kwara state on April 4, releasing simultaneously their photographs, while in action.

The images provided were the clearest, since the incident exactly a month ago. The police said the Kwara State Government has also promised a N5 million bounty for information about the suspects.

It was the latest update provided by the police, following the arrest of 20 principal suspects earlier and the recovery of two Beretta pistols, bullets, phones and SIM cards of some of the victims.

“All the suspects are cooperating with the police in the investigation into the incident. Currently, some of the other gang leaders and principal suspects at large are being identified and their pictures obtained for further investigation”, Assistant Commissioner of police, Moshood Jimoh said.

Police asked for public help to apprehend the gangsters still at large and said they have also been placed on INTERPOL watch list and red alert.

“Other sister security and safety agencies are equally implored to arrest them and hand over to the nearest police station or formation across the country or avail the police with any information they may have or come across about these suspects”, Moshood said.
The police had earlier revealed the identities of 12 suspects who were arrested for alleged connection to the robbery in Offa.

Armed robbers stormed the community the afternoon of April 5, killing 17 people and raiding five banks. Eight police officers at Owode Division, Offa, were also killed in the attack, and the robbers made away with police arms and ammunition.
Prior to the arrest of the 12 suspects, the police had arrested seven suspects within the first two days of the attack, and made more arrests on later dates.

The police had earlier withheld the names of the first batch of suspects, saying doing so could jeopardise efforts to arrest the remaining members of the gang or/and threaten the entire investigation into the deadly robbery that had gripped the nation.
President Muhammadu Buhari and other Nigerian leaders have condemned the attack and called on the police to take immediate action to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Some of those earlier arrested include, Adegoke Shogo, 29; Kayode Opadokun 35; Kazeem Abdulrasheed, 36; Azeez Abdullahi 27, and Alexander Reuben, 39. Others were Jimoh Isa, 28; Azeez Salawudeen, 20, and Adewale Popoola, 22; Adetoyese Murtaugh, 23; Aminu Ibrahim 18; Richard Buba Terry, 23 and Peter Jaba, 25.

A former Minister of Finance, Dr. Kalu Idika Kalu and his wife, Imo Kalu, escaped death by the whiskers when petrol bomb explosions rocked their country home in Ebem Ohafia, Abia State. The house is a stone-throw from the Goodluck Jonathan Military Barracks, Ohafia.
The incident happened at 1.30am on March 29, when the couple was in deep sleep, but was kept under wraps to allow security agencies probing the incident apprehend the perpetrators. However, a month after, there seems to be no headway. Instead, the home of another Igbo leader, Chief Nnia Nwodo, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in Enugu was bombed exactly a month after Kalu’s narrow escape.
The first explosion targeted at the carport, which is some metres away from the main building, razed completely their Toyota Prado SUV. The second explosion occurred at the main building and destroyed extensively a section of the house.
It was the sound of the explosions that woke them up, while they raised the alarm that attracted neigbours, who rushed to put off the fire that had done enough damage to the building. They had travelled home to celebrate the Easter, but their celebration was turned into a nightmare.

Narrating to Saturday Sun, the incident, the former minister, who is yet to recover from the shock said, they travelled home to celebrate the Easter, not knowing that merchants of death were waiting for them. “If not for God’s loving kindness and mercy, my wife and I, would have been roasted alive. God knows how to protect His own; we have never wronged or offended anybody; we live our quiet lives”, he said.
He recalled that he had been threatened, when a member of the inner caucus of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) told him clearly that he was marked for elimination because he had remained aloof to the Biafra struggle and has not lent his voice or support the struggle. He said he didn’t take the threat seriously, as he didn’t see how his failure to contribute money for IPOB struggle would be a crime.
“I didn’t take the threat seriously. They thought I was a millionaire, which I’m not. The same man was reeling out my sins against IPOB, and asked me why my enemies were spreading false information about me. He told me that my name was among those marked for elimination; that I was on the group’s hit list for long.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has declared a sit-at-home order on May 30 throughout Biafra land and Nigeria in remembrance of the fallen heroes and heroines who died in the fight for the restoration of Biafran state.
The group said that it would also remember all victims of herdsmen attacks, Boko Haram violence and those that were allegedly killed by the Nigerian security agencies over the years that were not yet remembered.
A statement by the Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Emma Powerful called on the people of Middle Belt, Southern Kaduna, Ondo as well as other states affected by herdsmen killings to join the sit-at-home to pray and remember the souls of those unlawfully killed by security agents and herdsmen.
According to the statement, “We are calling on all the people of Southern Kaduna, Middle Belt especially Benue, Adamawa, Kogi, those affected by herdsmen terrorism in Ondo and other states in Yoruba land to join the great family of IPOB in observing a day of solemn prayer and sit at home to remember those that lost their lives unlawfully at the hands of terrorist herdsmen and security agencies.

“This year’s remembrance will be special because it will present a unique moment of shared pains and misery for all the families that lost their loved ones to war, hunger, disease and terrorism. We remember those that sacrificed their lives to defend the defenseless and those that lost their lives because there was no one to defend them.
“There will be no human, vehicular or animal movement across Biafra land on the 30th May 2018. Biafra land will be in total lock down. Middle Belt and Yoruba land brethren are advised to join this historic sit at home to honour the memory of all that died unjustly in Nigeria.
“Churches, mosques, synagogues and temples are encouraged to open their places of worship on the midnight of the 29th of May for special midnight prayers in remembrance of all that died as a result of violence. Special vigil will be held at the homes of select Biafran heroes.
“30th of May is an annual remembrance event initiated by IPOB worldwide to honour our fallen Biafran soldiers without whom this generation of Biafrans would not have existed. We owe our heroes of the class of 67-70 an incalculable debt of gratitude and shall honor them annually until the end of time. We shall never forget them!
