Okorocha, Amosun’s men dump APC, join AA, APM
Tue, 04 Dec 2018

Loyalists of Governors Rochas Okorocha (Imo) and Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun) have formally dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over the controversial party primaries.
While Okorocha’s men moved into Action Alliance (AA) in Imo State, Amosun’s associates, including his commissioners, yesterday pitched tent with Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Ogun State.
Amosun, who reviewed the political development in the ruling party, declared that God would not forgive him if he had stopped his loyalists from defecting to APM.

Okorocha’s son in-law and immediate past Chief of Staff to the governor, Chief Uche Nwosu, has clinched the governorship ticket AA, New Telegraph can authoritatively report.

Already, Okorocha’s men and supporters of Nwosu are massively moving in to AA.
No fewer than 11 House of Assembly members are already on the card for the movement to AA.
National Chairman of AA, Chief Kenneth Obidiche Udeze, a lawyer told New Telegraph in an exclusive interview that just before the substitution window elapsed, Nwosu’s name was successfully submitted as the governorship candidate of the party in Imo State.
He noted that there was no contention to the choice of Uche Nwosu as the party’s governorship flag bearer in Imo.

While Nwosu’s emergence was yet to become public knowledge, one Sir Leonard Okolienta, who claims to be the authentic governorship candidate of AA in Imo State, is already kicking.

Okolienta dismissed Nwosu’s candidature of the party, describing him as an impostor who neither contested the governorship primary election of the party nor is a member of the party.
Speaking yesterday, Okolienta insisted that he is the authentic governorship candidate of the party in the state and has not sold his mandate to anybody.

His words: “Uche Nwosu is just an impostor. I have not surrendered my mandate to anybody and I will not surrender it to anybody because it is not for sale, neither is the state for sale.”
He disclosed that he had won the primary election of the party held on October 5 and was duly issued with a certificate of return signed by the National Chairman of the party.

Okolienta said: “I won the party’s governorship primary election held on the 5th of October, 2018 held at the Diamonds Hotel in Orji and a certificate of return, signed by Barr. Kenneth Udeze who is the National Chairman of the party, was issued to me. I was also given the party’s flag, which makes me the official flag bearer of the party for the governorship poll in the state in 2019.

“Rochas Okorocha and his son in-law, Uche Nwosu, are not members of the party. Nwosu did not contest the governorship primaries of the party. So it is a big surprise to me to hear that he is claiming to be the governorship candidate of the party. I have never held any discussion with either Governor Okorocha or Uche Nwosu. I also did not write to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) or to my party that I have relinquished the mandate given to me.”

While the controversy continues, there are indications that supporters of Nwosu in the APC will move in droves to the AA this week to offer the needed support to Nwosu and his governorship project.
Already, the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Jones Onwuasoanya, has already dumped the APC for the AA in a move that suggests that his stay in APC may, after all, have been because of Nwosu.
