On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning, the Eta Aquariid meteor shower will streak across the night sky. This year, the mesmerizing annual event syncs up with the new moon, meaning there will be no moon to brighten the sky.“And the darker the skies, the more meteors you will see,” ANU astronomer Dr Brad Tucker told Sunrise. The meteor shower will be visible across the globe, but those of us in the southern hemisphere will have the best view.“You want to go outside between 3 and 4am local time. Go somewhere a little out of the city, away from as many lights,” says Dr Tucker.”When you go outside, let your eyes adjust for a few minutes then look around and you’ll see bursts of them,” he continued. “They will be spectacular, they will be nice and bright.”Watch the full story in the clip above.
