The Redmi flagship will feature a triple rear camera setup like the Mi 9. (Source: Xiaomi)Redmi will unveil its first flagship in the near future. The device will attempt to fill the boots of older Mi flagships by offering premium specifications at an extra-affordable price point. Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand has released a number of devices since it was launched earlier in the year. The company launched the Redmi 7, Redmi Go, Redmi Note 7, and Redmi Note 7 Pro, all of which are offerings across different price points in the mid-range/budget segments. The company is set to do something more impressive soon, though, in the form of a flagship.Previous word claimed the Redmi flagship would be called the “Redmi X”. Redmi’s CEO, Lu Weibing, has debunked that claim, though. The executive, active on Chinese social media, has also confirmed some other details about the device. For one, the Redmi flagship will keep the 3.5mm headphone jack. Redmi is aimed at a young demographic, and it makes sense that the headphone jack is still present, especially since there hasn’t been a Redmi device without a headphone jack. The device will also sport an ultrawide angle camera. It’s said to feature a triple rear camera setup that apparently comprises of a main 48 MP shooter, ultrawide, and telephoto lens. That’s very similar to Xiaomi’s main flagship, the Mi 9.The flagship has been confirmed to feature an in-display fingerprint reader, NFC, and a big battery. It will, of course, be powered by a Snapdragon 855 and will come with ample storage and memory.
