Registered teams, including one from Military Magnet Academy, will participate in the South Carolina Apollo Next Giant Leap Student (ANGLeS) Challenge, which is a national challenge celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission.The competition, run by NASA’s South Carolina Space Grant Consortium, gives students the chance to recreate the moon landing by using drones and a LEGO Mindstorm robot.The competition will be held locally on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Military Magnet Academy, Gym, 2950 Carner Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405. Students, parents and community members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Military Magnet Academy for the South Carolina will participate in the Apollo Next Giant Leap Student (ANGLeS) Challenge on Thursday, July 18, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Provided/CCSD Organizers of this event are focused on making it accessible for underrepresented and underserved communities. The top team at each regional challenge will earn the grand prize of a trip to Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. Charleston County School District is serving as a sponsor for this event.For more information about the SC ANGLeS Student Challenge, visit scspacegrant.cofc.edu/scangles.
